Melt-down stroke measuring integrated in welding unit B 5000:
Resistance welding is a very complex process. It is not always possible to completely record all parameters by just measuring current and voltage. Melt-down stroke measuring perfectly bridges this gap. In micro meter range it allows to monitor the welding process prior, during and at the end of the welding operation. Monitoring the closing stroke provides information about the condition of the electrodes, the welding tool and the welding material prior to the welding. Only when all parameters meet the requirements the welding operation will be started. Thus erroneous weldings can be avoided. The melt-down stroke determined at the end of the welding operation shows the repeat accuracy of the process and gives detailed information about the joining quality.
